Thibault Loué, 29 years old, athlete, commercial director at Ogilvy Paris and content creator on YouTube, has taken on the crazy challenge of running the 42.195 km of the Paris Marathon blindfolded, thus putting himself in the same conditions as a blind athlete.
On the occasion of the World Day of Disabled Persons, Thibault Loué presents his first film that shows us without filter his preparation and his race, in partnership with the Lucie Care endowment fund, which helps young visually impaired people. The story of this daring project begins in December 2019, when Thibault meets a blind person who could not who couldn't find his way in the Parisian subway. This scene marked him to the point of wanting to tell, in his own way, the story of those who do not see, those we do not see: the the invisible ones.
"For me, it has become a real mission to bring these people into the light. people in the light. And the best way to tell this story was to live it myself to tell this story was to live it myself by blindfolding myself on a mythical race: the Paris Marathon. Thibault Loué. Running the Paris Marathon blindfolded surrounded by 65,000 participants requires some preparation. Thibault was able to the support of his friend and guide Cédric Dubourg (co-director) (co-director) as well as the A2CMieux association which helps visually impaired people to practice their sport. It allowed him to train with two athletes: Mériam Amara (@MeriamAmara, blind, multidisciplinary multidisciplinary athlete, paratriathlon) and Thibault Rigaudeau (@rigaudeau) Rigaudeau (@rigaudeau_thibaut French team of handisport triathlon team, 4th at the Tokyo 2020 Games).
Through this approach and this documentary film, Thibault hopes, in all humility, to raise awareness of the visual handicap and and value athletes with disabilities.
Ogilvy Paris is very proud to support and contribute to highlighting Thibault and his project. Because we believe that great ideas can come from anyone. Because we believe that because we believe that the individual initiatives of our employees enrich our collective. Congratulations to him.
