NEW YORK, May 31, 2019 — Ogilvy was recognized with several top accolades last night at the 50th Annual Effie Awards Gala.
Ogilvy was the only agency to be awarded two of the night’s special “5 for 50” honors, which recognized work done on behalf of the five most enduringly effective and inspirational brands globally. Ogilvy won for its work on “Dove. Campaign for Real Beauty” and “IBM. A leading brand. A lasting brand.” Entrants were required to have won more than one Effie Award over more than one year and demonstrated that they most effectively adapted, stayed relevant, and sustained business success for the brand over time.
“Making brands matter today, tomorrow, and for decades to come is why we come to work. These honors are a testament to our team’s ability to drive effectiveness for our client partners through big, bold creative work that stands the test of time,” said John Seifert, Chief Executive, The Ogilvy Group.
In addition to the two special “5 for 50” honors, Ogilvy won 11 U.S. awards across categories including three Gold, one Silver and seven Bronze Effies for noteworthy work on behalf of clients. Two of Ogilvy’s Gold winners were Grand Effie contenders (top-scoring Gold Effie winners), Chicago Sun-Times’ “The Blank Page” and Gerber’s “Anything for Baby.”
Also, Ogilvy was named the second most effective agency network, Ogilvy New York was recognized as the second most effective individual office in the U.S. and WPP was recognized as the second most effective holding company.
