Ogilvy Canada has appointed a new face to the C-suite, naming Chris Perron as its chief client officer.
Perron fills a role most recently occupied by Marie-Lise Campeau, who was named president of the agency in May 2022. He joins Ogilvy with more than a decade of experience in executive roles – most recently with No Fixed Address, where he served as EVP and general manager.
Over his 25-year advertising career, Perron has also worked in senior client services roles at agencies including FCB Canada, Leo Burnett and BBDO Canada. He has worked in segments that include CPG, food and beverage, retail, government and not-for-profit.
“Chris always leads by example as a hands-on partner committed to the best possible creative experience for all involved – and he brings to this role a flawless reputation for doing just that,” says Campeau, adding that his “experience and personal affinities with Canada and Quebec’s cultural make up is a great fit for our teams and an advantage we can count on.”
For Ogilvy, Perron will be tasked with developing client relationships and providing account management strategy. The agency counts a number of category-leading brands among its clients, including TD Bank, H&R Block Canada, Mondelez, Unilever, Corby Spirit and Wine, York University and Cora restaurants.
“We always say we’re not selling to our clients; we’re solving their business problems in the most creative way,” says Francesco Grandi, chief creative officer (CCO) at the agency. “I can speak for myself and for my co-CCO, Gavin Drummond, when I say Chris is the perfect embodiment of that. He’s all about enabling the kind of relationships and work we want to create here.”
Perron says: “How we connect and work together, prioritizing transparency and accountability, affects every layer of our business. It’s something I’ve learned time and time again across my career, and I’m excited to continue leveraging this mindset at Ogilvy Canada.”
