The Stratos jump. One of the biggest media events of the year, supported by a team of experts, Felix Baumgartner ascended to 128,000 feet in a capsule attached to a stratospheric balloon and then made a freefall jump rushing to Earth at supersonic speeds. An absolutely incredible challenge. Unfortunately though, he wasn't the 1st.
In order to increase awareness about the start of the Model Makers Fair, we decided to hijack the complete Red Bull project and announced via Facebook, Twitter, the official Red Bull website and all the important news forums that the jump had been moved forward at exactly 12:00 h. Our brave hero took his first step into the unknown.
However, in the scale of 1 to 350, and as the world was impatiently waiting for the images from the Red Bull team, our documentation had already broken all the records. Additionally, the world press snapped up the story, generating free media coverage worth millions. The Lego Stratos jump became a worldwide phenomenon and even the real Mr. Felix Baumgartner posted a comment on his Facebook page.
