For a long time, the world of drug dealing and cartels has been glorified by popular culture, media, television and movies, leading to many idolizing figures like Pablo Escobar. But those renderings are vastly incomplete. Ogilvy Colombia and the Fundacion Colombia Conmemora came together to hack the trend by creating an online shop called the NarcoStore, complete with products celebrating those in the drug dealing world. But when people went to purchase those products, they were shown something very different—real stories from people who have lost their loved ones to the violence perpetuated by drug dealers.
