In 2023, youth in Singapore fared badly in financial literacy, with 81% struggling. HSBC saw a need to educate the next generation on financial literacy, at the same time opening them up to HSBC’s offerings.
Traditional means of teaching financial literacy wouldn’t work, so to engage youths in a way that’s fun and engaging, HSBC created the HSBC AdventureVerse – a role-playing game that rewarded players for conquering the virtual financial landscape. Players teamed up with adorable in-game companions to explore new worlds, complete missions, while acquiring financial knowledge along the way. Those who complete the experience could win attractive real-life prizes too – a win-win for all.
