The people of the Red Cross often witness disturbing and shocking events of human suffering, but the rise of AI-generated images is muddying the boundary between fact and fiction on social media. Ogilvy Paris and The Red Cross teamed up to create the Not Generated by AI campaign. Starting with a script of text prompt instructions—commonly given to popular AI image generators—we think we're seeing AI-generated imagery. It’s then revealed that, sadly, the photographs are actually real, creating a searing reminder that there's nothing artificial about the real emergency situations that volunteers of The Red Cross encounter daily.
