The lack of access to drinking water is a growing problem in Colombia, with almost 4 million people living in desert areas which do not have the necessary hydration resources. Amidst this problem, Ogilvy Colombia, in partnership with FILSA and Baylor International, developed 1,000 biodegradable "Filter Caps" which affix to bottles of water to mineralize the water and make it safe for consumption. Innovation, creativity, gather together, boosted by the Colombian Red Cross to reach the vulnerable population. The Filter Caps were created via 3D printing, and are made from sweet corn starch-based resin—a sustainable and biodegradable option—which considerably reduces dependence on conventional plastics.
