Wagashi (Japanese confections) has been enjoyed in Japan for over 400 years. However, young people in particular have lost interest in wagashi, and the culture of relishing the expressions of wagashi is disappearing. To preserve the traditions of wagashi, Kameya Yoshinaga and a publisher of classic Japanese novels came together to create Wagashi specifically engineered to be enjoyed within certain passages of classic novels, creating a multi-sensorial literary experience and rekindling the culture and traditions of wagashi.
