Through a simple loophole, Ogilvy found an innovative way to reopen the Design Museum, which had suffered a 92% drop in its usual income streams during the pandemic. Our team worked with Bombay Sapphire to open a supermarket like no other at the museum, allowing it to reopen despite pandemic restrictions.
Ogilvy collaborated with artists, including famed artist and designer Camille Walala to turn essential items into artworks, creating a contemporary and fine art range of everyday items to sell in our Design Museum Supermarket, the first of its kind.
All proceeds from sales went towards supporting artists, through the Design Museum’s new Emerging Designer Access Fund – a ‘pay it forward’ scheme that gives up and coming artists and designers free access to Design Museum exhibitions, talks and events, including networking and mentoring events, supported by Bombay Sapphire.
